Hi everyone, Cora here! š¶š¦
Iāve been splashing around at the creek this week while the boys at T&T Roofing Bendigo have been busy helping homes across Central Victoria stay cooler as the warm weather starts creeping in.
š¬ļø How a Whirlybird Helps Cool Your Home
With summer on the way, even small additions to your roof can make a big difference inside your home. One of the simplest upgrades is a whirlybird and hereās how they work
When the sun heats up your roof, hot air gets trapped in the roof cavity.
That hot air acts like a blanket over your home, raising your internal temperature by up to 10°C.
A whirlybird spins using natural wind and convection, pulling that trapped hot air out while allowing cooler fresh air to move in.
When paired with eave vents, you get a complete airflow cycle cool air enters through the eaves, hot air escapes through the whirlybird and your home feels noticeably cooler.
This simple system reduces roof-space heat load, helps your insulation perform properly, and can even take pressure off your air conditioner. A small upgrade but a massive difference to comfort!
š ļø What the Boys Got Up To This Week
While I was supervising from the shade, obviously, the team were out completing a few big jobs:
Moss removal and roof cleaning making old roofs look fresh again and preventing future water pooling.
New parapet flashings on a beautiful old character home improving weatherproofing while keeping the heritage look.
Chasing down and repairing the usual roof leaks the kind that show up this time of year when storms start rolling through.
Another solid week for T&T Roofing Bendigo⦠and yes, I got plenty of pats for keeping morale high š¾š.
If your home feels hotter than it should, or youāve been thinking about improving ventilation or fixing up a few roofing issues before summer hits give us a call. Weāre always happy to help!
