After what felt like a very long, cold Bendigo winter, those frosty mornings are finally starting to disappear and spring is beginning to make itself known. 🌸☀️

And around here, that means one thing…

🎨 Roof painting season is finally coming back!

Over winter, the boys have been kept busy replacing guttering, fixing leaks, sorting roof ventilation issues and carrying out all sorts of roof repairs around Bendigo and the surrounding areas.

But as the weather starts warming up and we begin getting those longer, drier days, you’ll soon start seeing the T&T Roofing boys out and about giving tired old roofs a completely new lease on life.

And because I’m the one supervising everything from ground level 🐾, I thought I’d explain a question we get asked quite a bit:

🤔 Why Would You Paint Your Roof?

Roof painting isn’t only about changing the colour of your home.

A properly prepared and professionally coated roof can make a massive difference to the overall appearance of your property while also helping protect the roof surface from the harsh Australian weather.

Your roof makes up a huge part of what you see when looking at a house from the street.

Over time, older roofs can become faded, stained and weathered. Even if the rest of the home looks great, a tired roof can make the whole property look older than it really is.

A fresh roof coating can completely transform the appearance of the home without needing to replace the entire roof.

Sometimes a colour change can make just as much difference as a full exterior renovation.

Around here, we’re big believers that roof painting is only as good as the preparation underneath it.

Depending on the roof, that may mean dealing with things such as:

✅ Flashing issues

Painting straight over problems might make a roof look good temporarily, but it isn't the way we like doing things.

The goal is to leave the homeowner with a roof that looks better and is properly prepared underneath.

Roof coating work relies heavily on suitable weather.

The colder and wetter Bendigo winter months can make scheduling roof painting difficult, particularly with frost, moisture, low temperatures and unpredictable rain.

Spring brings longer days, warmer temperatures and generally much better conditions for washing, preparing and coating roofs.

So over the coming weeks, don't be surprised if you see the boys spending a little less time hanging gutters and a little more time covered in roof paint. 😂🎨

Sometimes a proper clean, preparation, repairs where required and a fresh coating can completely change the appearance of your home and give an otherwise serviceable roof a whole new lease on life.
